Twice a year, the Korean government invites 170 undergraduate students / 700 international graduate students from 156 countries to undertake research (Bachelor, Master, and PhD) and non-university programs in Korea through the Korean Government Scholarship.
Application Deadline: Applicants submit their applications to Korean embassies around the world or partner universities in Korea.

About the scholarship: The Korea Government Scholarship Program (KGSP) is offered to international students who wish to pursue Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD studies at Korean universities. The scholarship aims to provide international students with the opportunity to pursue advanced study at higher education institutions in Korea, develop world leaders, and strengthen Korean friendly networks around the world.
Eligibility: To be eligible for the Korean Government Scholarship:
Applicants and their parents must have a non-Korean nationality.
KGSP-G: less than 40
KGSP-U: under 25
Applicants must be in good physical and mental health for their studies in Korea.
KGSP-G: Bachelor’s or Master’s
KGSP-U: High School Diploma
Must have a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 80% or higher; or
The CGPA must be 2.64 / 4.0, 2.80 / 4.3, 2.91 / 4.5 or 3.23 / 5.0 or more.

KGSP Undergraduate – Around 170 winners will be awarded each year
KGSP Graduate – Around 700 Laureates will be awarded each year

Korean Government Scholarship Selection Procedure
Option One: Applicants apply to Korean embassies around the world or participating universities in Korea. The embassies and universities select the selected candidates from the candidates of the first selection round. Applicants from selected applicants will be submitted to NIIED
Second option: The NIIED selection committee selects the selected candidates from those who have passed the first round.
Third Selection: From among the selected applicants who passed the second round, universities will review applicants’ applications through Korean embassies for admission. Successful applicants must obtain admission from at least one of the universities.
One-year Korean language course + two-year university degree
One-year Korean language course + 4-year license
Korean course for one year + two years for the master
Korean course for 1 year + 3 years for the doctorate
Be admitted to: Korean universities.
How to Apply: Only applicants can apply for the Korea Government Scholarship through the Korean Embassy in their home country or the participating Korean University.
